Can I use an undercount sink larger than opening in marble vanity top?
I have an antique marble bathroom vanity top I want to use when I redo my small bathroom. The marble is meant to take a very small oval under mount sink - and I cannot find any sink small enough to fit.

I don't know an answer but if you can't find one, perhaps you could use one of the bowls that are made to sit on top of the counter. Maybe set it partially into the opening and plumbed from there. ???
Hi Margarita,
From reading and re-reading your question several times i could finally wrap my mind around your issue. You have a lovely marble counter top with a small opening for a basin and can't find a small enough basin.
You have a couple of options:
-Have someone enlarge the hole in the countertop and match it to a small basin, the smallest one you can find. Then seal the gap with caulking.
-The flat top of the countertop could have a plate and a bowl system with a tall faucet to rise over the top of the bowl, they have these in attractive models probably found at Amazon or high end stores that carry these furnishings.
I would hesitate to put the larger basin under the counter top, it is a set up for trapped bacteria and mold in-between the underside of the countertop and the actual basin. Also to mention difficult to clean. It could probably be done, the attractiveness and sanitation of the arrangement would be questionable.
Good luck to you, it sounds like a wonderful project.
I would not do that as it will be a nightmare to keep clean. Check online resources for specialty sinks. There are so many different types that are not available in stores!
