You can use chalk paint and a darker wax to give your furniture an antique look.
You can also distress the chalk paint to get peeks of the finish under the paint. If you choose a darker wax usually you need to use a clear wax first--if you don't it's hard to remove any excess dark wax.

Try using chalk paint ! It comes in so many colors , and is so easy to use . The best thing is you don't need to sand or use primer!!!! Once you have painted it you can use a sealing wax , in antique finish. That goes on like a stain , paint it on and rub it off, then it dries to a hard finish .
