I want to put the tin look wall paper on the ceiling and wondered if that was feasible? Has anyone done this or would it just fall down?

Yes, it's possible but I don't know how.

Wall papering a ceiling would be brutal. But it can be done as long as you clean and prep the ceiling. If you have popcorn or stippling, wall paper will not hold well and will probably show through.

You can get the faux tin squares at Home Depot, but they are not cheap. Maybe find a salvage that has the real tins ceiling squares? You might get lucky and get a great deal.

Wall paper on kitchen ceilings isn’t scrubbable unless you paint it with enamel paint.

How does the ceiling feel & then look when you swipe your fingers across it? As in how clean is the ceiling? Cooking vapors land everywhere.

One can get heavy wallpaper to stick on the ceiling, with the heavy duty paste. It’s going to take two people and patience.

Here’s a cheap ceiling tile concept that uses your preferred wallpaper:

buy 1/4” drywall, cut into 2’x2’ squares that work with the wallpaper pattern.

Prime it & then adhere the wallpaper, laying down, like on a countertop. Let dry, trim as needed.

Paint the wallpaper panels with a scrubbable paint, latex enamel. Get the edges of the dw painted too.

Mark with chalk where the ceiling joists are.

Screw the panels into the ceiling joists w/ drywall screws. You’ll need a helper or ceiling drywall holding system.

Fill in the drywall screw holes with a tiny bit of sparkling compound. Sand, prime & paint to match.

Consider leaving reveals at the edges of the panels.
