Faux Metal Letters With Nail Heads
Do you like the look of metal decor? I've seen some really amazing galvanized metal words and letters, but they're normally very expensive.
You'll never believe how easy it is to make paper mâché letters look like metal, and you can even add detail with faux rounded nail heads.
These are perfect for a kids room where safety is a concern and you may not want an actual, heavy, metal letter hanging in their space.
Before I decided to change it, our paper mâché letter was painted a boring brown.
It matched the space at the time, but when my boys room got a makeover, we wanted something new. They liked the metal letters they'd seen, so I thought of a way to make them myself.
To begin, you'll want to make the faux nail heads.
Use a hot glue gun, and go around the entire perimeter of the letter, making small dots.
With hot glue, you're bound to have those strings.
It's easy to get rid of them by using a small razor to trim all those pesky hot glue strings.
When you do this, it'll leave the letters and glue dots very clean looking.
Next, use metallic spray paint to cover the entire letter and glue dots.
Don't forget to spray the sides too.
That's it!
One of the easiest makeovers you can do, and it makes a big statement in a room.
