How do I secure a glass table top?

We have a new breakfast room table that has a glass top that is centered on a fairly small base in the center of the glass. How can I secure this to prevent it flipping if one of our grandchildren put too much weight and pressure on one side?

You can use CLEAR Gorilla Glue, it’s available at virtually everywhere (Walmart, Michaels craft store, Home Depot/Lowe’s etc) It’s pretty cheap at about $8-$10 or so for the larger bottles. My husband and I use Gorilla glue for several products every year. Just remember to get clear version, the regular is a pale yellow color, and also to go a little easy on the glue, you won’t need much, it will expand after you put it on. Lightly moisten the sections as you apply, it helps make it more secure. Good luck!

Yayao,. You need to glue it, with glue that will absorb the glass. I would make a bigger base on top of the base that's there. Aloha!

A nice circle of finished wood attached to the base would give you more stability.

If you want to secure it but also want to be able to move or flip the glass at some point in the future, consider a product called Museum Putty. Its a clear, removable putty designed to anchor fragile sculpture and pottery pieces to their display bases so they won't fall if the base is bumped into. It won't make the table top absolutely immobile to a hard shove but it should keep in in place during day to day use. It also won't etch or stain the glass.
