How do I unclog sink and bathtub drains?

At one time I read about unclogging a sink drain using baking soda and vinegar. I don’t know what the measurements should be, instructions and how long to wait afterwards. I would welcome any help and/or suggestions. Thank you.

    Hi Linda,

We use about 1/2 cup baking soda and about 1 cup vinegar. It will fizz, When the fizzing stops, rinse with a generous amount of hot water.

Thank you Nancy. Maybe waiting the 15 minutes will help.

Hair is usually the big cultprit in bathrooms.

If this doesn't work, buy a drain cleaner that "eats" hair.

Thank you Cheryl. I’ve tried just about every drain cleaner, although maybe there are some specifically for hair, I’ll have to check. I’m going to try Redcatcec’s suggestion since now I have the correct amounts to use. Thank you.

Another idea is to buy a small "snake" that chucks into a drill and mechanically clean the drains.

Thank you Cheryl, I appreciate it. I’m going to purchase the small snake today. Thanks again and have a wonderful day.
