How can I disguise a hole in a wall so I can still gain access?
I had to cut a rather large hole in a wall so I could gain access to the furnace for repairs. There was originally a door (cut in half) to get access to the furnace but the installer and all of us were much smaller at the time and that is not the case now. So what I need is to some how have this access available for future repairs. This wall is on a 2nd floor and is about 4 feet tall before the pitched ceiling of the roof line.

Maureen can you just make a hinged door for this?
Hid with furniture or a large photo, poster etc.
Square off the hole, build a 2X4 frame on the inside. Take measurements of the opening. Build a panel out of drywall, wood, and use it to cover the hole. You can hinge it or make it a screw on panel. Paint it the same color as the walls.
I would frame the opening out and put in a custom made door.
