How to cut molding?
I took the carpet off the stairs and painted them. But there is a gap on each side of the stair treads. How can I fix this or is there a way to cut molding to fit.

Hi Sharon,
This is Linda. The best looking way to fix this, IMHO, would be to add molding to cover those gaps. It could be painted to match the stairs so you'd hardly notice it. Painting to match instead of using stained wood would make your stairs look wider. I hope this helps you. Wishing you the best.
Quarter round molding would cover the gaps.

I was also thinking quarter round when I read you question. I think that's the way to go.
