How to find John Deere hydro-static 175 transmission for lawn tractor?

I have a John Deere lawn tractor , model Hydro 175, that needs the transmission replaced. It is about 28 years old, but everything else works great, including mower deck and snow blower. Does anyone know of someone , person or business, that might have older mowers, parts, etc? I haven’t been able to locate anything to date on the internet. Thanks for your help.

Have you looked on ebay or craigs list in your area? You could also try putting what you want in a search engine. I have found things that way. Some dealers may even have an old mower like yours for a reasonable price for parts. Jon deere dealers.
Good Luck. You might try Want Ads. I know a close friend has a JD Riding Mower And it was only a small part, he had to wait a while for that. Just know: it will be worth the hunt and wait. Can't beat a Deere.
I'd contact John Deere directly either in a store or here online. I'm betting they can lead you in the best direction. Good Luck.

I would look into auctions in farming areas near you. You also should contact John Deer as there may be a new transmission that can work with your model. Also contact business’s that fix and maintain them they usually have good parts from older models around for these situations.
