    Resolve carpet cleaner spray or granules work well. Apply, then scrub into spots. Let set, then vacuum.

    The BEST stain remover is called: Folex Carpet spot remover. We had to order it online, but it really does work very well! It is the best and was recommended by a fellow DIY hometalk person. Hope this helps, Annie

    Thanks Annie...I've been looking for something that takes black markings off

    carpet (from shoes). I'll give this a try Resolve and other products have not

    been successful so far.
