Paint with primer in it. Primer is cheaper than paint plus,it has a sealer in it so the exspensive paint doesn't keep soaking in and covers in 1 to 2 coats.

Are you painting over previously painted walls? Then no worries... However, if you're painting over sheetrock walls that have never been primed or painted... I would absolutely recommend priming first with a PVA primer LIKE THIS ONE. After that you can paint in a good quality latex paint LIKE THIS ONE. Although many latex paints are marketed as having primer in it already, I still recommend using PVA primer on fresh sheetrock/plaster
