Pamela, use a pumas stone and some elbow grease. I emptied the water from the toilet bowl with a cup, so to have a dry area in the bowl. The scrapped at the ring until it was gone. Try a cup or two of bleach at night and allow it to sit in the toilet a few hours until morning.

You can scrub with a pumice stone. I sometimes drop denture cleaning tablets in mine to clean. It helps prevent the nasty.
