How do I find deer resistant plants?

I have tried for YEARS to solve the deer vs. plants issue. Here’s a list of what has worked for me:

Day Lilly

Dianthus

Hyacynth

Daffodils

Box Woods

Holly

Butterfly Bush

Russian Sage

Anything else that I’ve planted that was categorized as “deer resistant” those sweet creatures have acquired a taste for and eaten them anyway.

There is also a spray you can use. It smells God-awful so make sure you’re not spraying on a breezy day. And wear gloves. It’s called Bobbex. I spray once a month and the deer steer clear.

Unsure where you live, but many native plants are deer resistant. Not only can they be deer resistant, but native plants are also environmentally friendly, pollinator attractors, low maintenance, need little to no water once established and never need fertilizer. Check with your local conservation district or extension office and they should be able to help you find and understand native plants.
