  • Grates from a gas stove? Fill kitchen sink with the hottest tap water you can get. Line the bottom of the sink with an old kitchen towel to protect it. Add in the grates, a couple squirts of dish soap, cup of white vinegar and a couple heaping tablespoons of baking soda. Let soak for an hour. Then wash as usual, dry and replace.

Hi Patricia. I'm Cindy. Begin by washing them with warm water and dish soap. (Dawn works best) Next, make a paste with baking soda and water. Coat all grates with this paste and let them sit for 20 minutes. Then scrub them with an old toothbrush. Rinse with clean water. Good luck Patricia.
