Hi Marsha you can mix the food coloring of your choice with Modpodge to paint onto or por into the mason jars to make them different colors. Just know that if you use the ModPodge inside they can only be used for decorative purposes and not storage of anything edible. You can, however, paint the outside of mason jars with the mixture you make and then use the jars to store foodstuffs. Some people like to heat the jars in a low temperature oven to "set" the ModPodge and some also use a clear acrylic or poly sealer after applying ModPodge to make it more permanent. Have fun!
