What zone are you in Marilyn? Watering from the bottom doesn't work for them. Place in the kitchen sink and give it a good long shower and let drain thoroughly. They need more water in pots than they do in ground. See if these help you.

I had one for 7 years, also in a south east window and then in the sunroom during the summers, loved the humidity there. I watered once a week but on top, not bottom, called him “Avi”. He sat beside our grapefruit tree also from seed and 7 years old, still great. We moved 4 years ago and I lost him here, probably because he didn’t get enough Light. Light, humidity, water and I did give him regular fertilizer as I do all my plants from February to the fall. Hope this helps, grow 2 more, 4 toothpicks inserted in each so they sit over and partly in water dish, takes awhile be patient, let roots grow fairly long before planting.
