There are many accordion doors for sale in the stores. They come with all the hardware you need. Also you could use a bi-fold door or more. All options depend on your width needed. Bi-fold doors can be trimmed slightly on the edge that moves. You may need to drill a new hole for the top roller point. Don't trim the side near the wall. There are 2 pivot points that would need to be moved.

Cheaper to buy one than make one. All the hardware, hinges, super straight boards, and labor.

  • Hi Maria,

Is this for a closet opening? I agree it would be difficult to make one. You could attempt to get a similar look with a curtain, but it wouldn't be as effective as blocking out the noise.

SO the answer to how do I build one at 'DIY' projects was to buy one.

Hi Maria: I think it would be easier and less frustrating to buy them than make them. That way you get all the hardware that's needed, and you don't have to hunt all over for the materials to make them. Here's Home Depot's site for them: Search Results for accordion folding door at The Home Depot

    Good luck
