I've seen posts where you put a pillow case over the fan blade then dust it well, then scrub it down with a good cleaner like Mr. Clean. The pillowcase catches all the dust & debris so it doesn't get all over your furniture and floor. Shake it out and then repeat for each fan blade. If they are wood blades you may wish to polish.

D.Babe,. Get up on a latter with a micro fiber dust rag, and wipe toward the end of the fan blades. Put some newspaper down before you start. Next, remove the bulbs, then unscrew the light covers. Wash them and dust the bulbs.. Replace everything backwards, and your fan is done. Aloha!

I like to dust it off with a vacuum cleaner first then I use a little dawn soap in some hot water and wipe down the blades.
