What are the measurements for the vinegar, salt , and dish detergent weed killer?

    1/2-1 cup salt in a gallon of white vinegar and a squirt of Dawn dish soap. The Dawn just serves as a method to keep the mixture on the weeds longer. This is what I've used for years, others may have different measurements. Plain vinegar likely works but I think the salt helps too.

    Both the salt and the vinegar will kill anything it touches. I avoid using salt, it gets into the freshwater streams, rivers and lakes and changes the salinity and takes years to dissipate even if no further salt is used. In some cities it is even affecting the drinking water. If you don't have to, don't use the salt. Just use the vinegar or the vinegar with a little Dawn.
