House is concrete slab foundation. I'd like to replace carpet/ linoleum with a long lasting product. Vinyl tile loses contact after years. I have cats. Not sure what would be best replacement. Ideas?

    Hello Joyce,

    Ceramic Floor Tiles maybe........!

  • My house is on a slab too. And have a housefull of pets. I installed laminate and after years of frustration, I finally ripped it out and installed hardwood. Just earlier today a lady wanted to know how to get rid of paw prints on laminate. Plus laminate does not play well with water.

Sheet vinyl or vinyl planks may be the way to go. Before you say "no way!" head over to a few flooring showrooms. You will be surprised. Not the same as the stuff from the 50's and 60's.

Another option is tile. Lots of options there too. It is cold underfoot and a hard surface, so not best for pets as they age. I personally love tile, but after multiple back surgeries and arthritis in my feet, not a good choice for me. So think twice about your lifestyle.

Take a Saturday morning or afternoon and just go explore. Flooring is so personal. Plus it looks way different in person than it does on a computer screen. You can't judge quality from a computer screen.
