How to clean patio furniture?

What's the best way to clean the "fabric" portion of outdoor chaise lounges and other outside furniture? We live in Florida where it's outside 24-7, all year around. Thanks.

Marilyn, there are different ways of cleaning them. I would use a power washer if I had one. Since I don't, I brush them good with soapy water then hose them off. Here are some different videos that give you a variety of how to do it.

    HI Marilyn,

This is Linda. I clean my with equal parts of vinegar & water with a few drops of Dawn. I do it outside, of course spray it use a hose to rinse it off (since I don't have a power washer). This has really worked well for us. Wishing you the best.

After you clean them, I'd try to keep them covered and dry going forward to extend their life. I live in coastal south carolina and get tons of rain - it will ruin cushions!

A tip: After you use one of the cleaning methods mentioned and the piece is thoroughly dry, treat with a fabric water repellant - give the cushions a good couple of spray on coats of it at least - that will help repel dirt as well as moisture. Cover when not in use. Waterproof is best (plastic) - you can make your own covers out of inexpensive shower curtain liners.
