How to get meldew out of clothes?

My grandson left some of his daughter's wet clothes in a bag and now they have mildew on them is there a way to get it out?

Add a cup on vinegar to the washer.
I would throw out the clothes. No need to spread the mildew around. And the smell would be difficult to remove without damaging the fabric. The little girl is precious and shouldn't have to wear stinky clothes.
