Hi Judy, Had you thought to use Contact or Stick on tiles or Ceramic tiles or Mosaics or even tile covers......
I removed the doors, sanded them and removed the trim. I purchased quarter inch MDF board, and ripped it to 2 in wide. I glued and tacked the strips around the edges of the doors for the Shaker look. I used Glidden Gripper primer, then used Behr ultra high gloss enamel. I still have to put on one more coat that will make three. Don't forget to have them tint your primer.

The pictures below are before and after the same doors. I also did the same with the cabinet. I'm not quite finished yet.
I greatly dislike particleboard cabinets. Is they are swollen from water damage you should replace them. You can replace damages base inside the cabinet if needed, but the sides provide support and once particleboard starts to break down, it is done.
If they are smooth walled and you can remove the paint from the faceboards with a chemical stripper, then you can get a contact paper or end panel replacement at Lowes or Home Depot.
You can often buy replacement doors, but often it is cheaper just to buy a new vanity than bits and pieces.
You can also use a tinted polystain to make the cabinets look rustic.
