How do I get rid of fine grass between my paving?

There is a mixture of vinegar, epsom salt water and blue (dishwasher) Dawn that is said to kill grass and weeds. All natural. Check out the proportions on the internet.

Hello. To get rid of the grass in my pavers I just poured kosher salt into the grooves. I let it sit and when it rains it went away.

I’ve heard of people to hot water and salt and I’ve tried that but it never really worked for me.

I have used orange oil along the pavers and it burns out the grass while leaving a citrus fragrance on the patio. Be careful! Orange Oil in the gardening concentration is VERY acid and will burn through plastic, store in glass jars or heavy nylon bottles. Rinse your sprayer after use carefully or it could just melt your hosing.

Ortho grass killer sprayed between pavers should kill the growth, but grass roots can grow 6" long, so you may want to install tall, permanent edging between your lawn and paver edge.

Skip the chemicals and skip the soap. Just boiling salt water poured directly in the cracks will kill anything growing in the cracks. No matter what you use though you’ll still have to pull the dead material out so my suggestion is to pull everything you can then pour the saltwater on the cracks then put a thin layer of salt in the cracks the following week and every so often to maintain the area. OR once the weeds are gone, flush the area well with fresh water (or wait for a good rain) and plant something to fill the cracks like creeping thyme in a sunny spot or moss if it’s in a shady damp area.

We tried different ideas, but the only product that works is ROUNDUP. Once used, grass and weeds disappear. Really this is the best!

The only application that gets rid of grass and weeds between paving is ROUNDUP. One application and they are gone and do not grow back. It worked for us.

Weed killer

Mix up a solution of 1 gallon of white household vinegar, 1/2 cup of table salt, a quirt or two of Dawn dish washing soap. Pour into a spray bottle or a garden sprayer and spray over the stuff growing. Within about 3 days the greenery will start to yellow and die. Just don't spray this solution on plants you want to thrive.

It is so simple but it can work a treat. Boil some tap water in a kettle and once ready pour it directly on the crown of your weeds. Larger weeds may take three or four applications in order to stop coming back but this is a low cost and hassle free solution worth giving a try. Just be sure to wear adequate protection clothing so that the scolding hot water doesn’t splash back onto your feet, legs and/or hands. Some people have actually seen this method work better than the vinegar method, give it a shot!

Boiling water for the kill to the root. I have never had much luck with vinegar, dish washing liquid, and salt mixtures no matter what the formulas are.
