How can I update my kitchen?
I have purchased a retirement home...1966... love layout but paneling between upper cabinets and lower in kitchen is really in need of help.. separating, etc. I don’t want contractors in here. Would like advise on project I can do. ❤️

When you say paneling (do you mean mean wood paneling)? You could Stain it or Paint it in one or more colours or if appropriate you could use stick on tiles (they come in plain colours, patterns and metallic or self adhesive tile covers, or even Contact. Best wishes...
Since it is separating, you should remove it. Then you can replace with new paneling to keep the decor as is. If you want to update it, there is a multitude of back splash ideas to choose from here on Hometalk.
