A florist once told me to cut rose stems at an angle while holding them under running water...that is, if they are cut already. Cutting them off the bush: use a knife to cut the stem without crushing it. Worked/works for me.

If you're cutting them from a bush, look for the first set of five leaves that appears underneath the bloom. Cut above those five leaves. This will allow that stem to bloom again after the rose has been cut from it.

Hi Nelly, If you are wanting to cut a rose to put in a vase you cut it on an angle. If it is a different question would you please explain. Thanks

Always cut on an angle, and best to put in water right away
