some times you can un dent the wood by steaming it. damp cloth, clothes iron, try medium heat first.

If the floors are real hardwood you can save them instead of replacing them. Just sand the topcoat off, put a damp cloth over the dent and use an electric iron on top of the cloth. If you are set on replacing the floors and they are hardwood you’ll need to remove the baseboards and wherever there is a seam pop out one piece by taking a circular saw and make a cut across the seam on the end of the board as opposed to the side. Make sure you set the depth of the cut so you don’t cut through the substrate. Use some type of small pry bar and a hammer to remove the piece. Remove the rest of the flooring by prying it out.

If if you have laminate flooring remove the baseboards and begin removing the flooring along the edge. All you have to do is lift the edge by pulling up on the piece. The rest of the job will go pretty quick.
