It may go dormant for a bit while the roots get use to their new home and soil. Don't water too much or give it fertilizer during this time. Don't stop watering, just make sure you don't overwater it. Fertilizing it during this time may cause the roots to get burned since it has slowed down the growth of the plant to concentrate on the roots.
As with most plants, you should only water when the soil just becomes dry to the touch. Then water the plant in the sink until all of the soil is wet and the water has dripped out of the drainage holes (very important). Then leave the plant alone until it once again is dry to the touch (but NOT dried out completely!)
I didn't for the longest time!!!! But once I was able to grow one plant to maturity without killing it, things got better haha! Trial and error works for most things, including growing things!
