How do you recover a lampshade with fabric?

I have a cheap, very generic lamp shade, sort of bell shaped. I'd like to take the covering off & recover it with fabric that matches my valances.

My daughter took strips of 1” denim and glued the strips at a angle on the old shade ! It looked really good. She loves anything denim!

I would keep what is on there but stick your fabric to it.

Layout your fabric rightsides down. Take a piece of wide newspaper and make a pattern. To do this take your shade and roll it, as you roll draw the line. Cut out pattern and check against shade. If you are not sure try on to a scrap fabric first.

Once you have the correct size, spray mount the shade and put on the fabric, roll it on as you did the pattern drawing.

Any edges can be covered with bias binding.
