How can I make gifts for my kids and grand kids on my limited budget?

I am on a very limited budget. It's important to me to give gifts to my family but it's a problem finding affordable projects. My granddaughters are 7, 5 and 3.

  • Pinterest is chock full of gift items to make with upcycled items. Dollar stores are perfect for sourcing supplies too. What are your granddaughters into? Are they girly girls that like jewelry and barbies and tea parties? Or more tomboy that are more outdoorsy?

For your adult children, there are scads of projects that you can do with upcycled items here on Hometalk. Have you browsed through?

I have beautiful embroidered butterfly wings that little girls tie on each shoe through their shoe laces. Each shoe has 2 wings. The colors are rainbow and kids love wearing them. They are only $5 per set. With free shipping from Iowa. I can send you pictures if you have email. Dixie Ann

My mom use to make barbie clothes out of recycled material. Was pretty neat she was always sewing neat things or crocheting blankets and such.
