How does epoxy grout compare to polymer grout & standard cement grout?

Hi there, cement grout is not as durable and stain proof as epoxy grout. Regular grout isn't waterproof, so unlike epoxy grout, it will absorb water when it's wet, unless you add a waterproof bonding agent and it stains easily. Epoxy grout is a bit more expensive than regular grout but it's worth it for high traffic areas or in places that will get a lot of moisture, like a shower or bathroom. WRT to polymer grout it also stain and water resistant (more so than epoxy grout) and instead of epoxy being used as a binder they add polyurethane, acrylic polymer, and silicone to the mix.

Standard cement grout is very porous and has a tendency to stain and allow for mold. The epoxy grout is stain resistant, water resistant and less likely to crack like standard cement grout. But epoxy grout isn't all that easy to use. The best is a polymer grout that gives you the durability of the epoxy grout, but is easier to use, especially for a DIYer. We used Fusion Pro when we did our bathroom and I loved it because it's already pre-mixed and comes in a bunch of different colors.
