You cant paint over mold It will keep coming back. You must have a water leak somewhere that is causing the mold. You need to solve that issue first then clean the mold off, seal the wall and then repaint. Good luck.

I agree with all above, you need to find the source of what is causing the mold to begin with or you'll be fighting a never ending battle.

no. 1 find and fix leak. it may just need to put caulking around it on outside of house and or inside. if u can save sheetrock or not have to remove it. the best way ro kill mold is to mix half store brand vinegar 5% acidity and cheap store brand vodka in a spray bottle. it will kill the mold and it won't regrow in that spot. i have used this method many times and work great.

I agree with everyone else, you need to find the leak first. The mold might be behind the drywall and is growing behind the walls. No matter what you do on the outside if it’s behind the walls it will spread all through the house. This can become the black mold that can cause serious health problems.

If it’s a small area like I had in my bathroom I sprayed pure bleach on it. Let it dry then sprayed again and also let it dry. Then I gave it a fresh coat of paint. Haven’t seen any mold since. At least 2 years. I used a small spray bottle to do the job.

Once the mold problem is fixed and the last of the mold is cleaned off, I would paint it with a primer/sealant paint, like Killz. Then repaint with your room paint. Not much gets thru Killz!

I've dealt with this too. A product called TSP works. Can get it at any hardware store. Make sure you get the powder and not sprays. Follow directions a d mold is gone!

A lot of great answers above. You can kill the mold but how about the mold spores. Please research before doing anything. This looks like black mold which is dangerous to humans and pets too
