We have a space in our living room that is on an outside wall under a crawlspace. Every winter when we know it’s gonna be cold we use very small heater for this purpose.
The area needs heat so if you have a space heater that is on the newer side and safe and you monitor it that usually will help.
can you insulate the pipes?
They sell a foam pipe shape insulation that just fits right over most pipes. You just cut them to length and put on
They also have a heat tape that you can use it needs to be plugged in though.Helps to open cabinet doors so pipes get a little extra heat. Also if you know it's going to be really cold let your faucets trickle to prevent freezing.
Are you in a mobile/modular home? If so, a heater under the home should do the trick. If you are in a house, and the pipes are in the wall its more difficult. Blow dryers are your friend, if you can get to the pipes. Then, when its expected to freeze, leave the water running at a trickle, that usually prevents them from freezing except in the coldest, windiest of times
A blow dryer or a small ceramic heater placed in the area (be careful of this!). If you live in an area where pipes freeze in winter you can wrap the pipe with heat tape and plug it in, then put styrofoam pipe cover around it (made to insulate pipes and the heat tape) to keep it from freezing. Also, if it does not freeze often but only sometimes, you can dribble the water a tiny steady stream to keep it from freezing. If it is HARD frozen, your pipes may be broken and you may need to shut off your water when the pipes thaw as they will leak water all over. Keep your eye on it while thawing it out. Do not thaw it and walk away. This is a job that needs constant monitoring. We have all been in your shoes, so we understand. Hope this helps.
