Hi Vic, It depends on what kind of shades. There are lots of tutorials out there for making shades using iron on tape if you don't know how to sew. I like to use the drop cloth canvas that you use to cover your floors for painting. It comes in a large sheet and pretty inexpensive and it is already hemmed.
