Yikes! Maybe this article will help. Carhartt is worth the effort.

I wouldn't worry about it, just keep those clothes for work only. Even if you did get the sap out, the clothes will get covered again. My hubby worked back in the eighties for a company that refurbished cement mixtures and garbage trucks and he always was covered in black old grease. I covered the bad areas (like the end of the sleeves of his long underwear) with simple green and between that and my Tide, it got them mostly clean, but never totally unstained. The one piece he used in the winter and the jacket and jeans he used the rest of the year were kept for doing this work only to save the rest of his clothes (the part of the building they worked in had no heat or air conditioning). The Carhartt clothes may be expensive, but are made for durability needed in many jobs. They last a long time, so they do not need to be replaced very frequently. Just keep them for work only. Sap is really hard to get off of cars paint jobs and windows, it is worse on clothes that it can be absorbed into.

Sometimes it is all that can be done, hobbies outerwear, etc. went in the garage when he came home so that nothing would get on anything, before he even came in the house. They got washed regularly, but some stains just persisted no matter what. Make sure you wash those clothes separately so nothing gets transferred to other clothes.
