Is it a single step? If so, the simplest way would be to lay a few concrete block side by side. Make sure the area is level before putting the block down.
If the blocks Kathy mentioned are not the right height, you can easily build a box step. If you don't have a saw, get the place you buy your wood from to make the cuts for you. Check out this link:
