How to unclog a downspot?

I had my gutters cleaned before Christmas. I'm waiting to hear back, but just in case I'm wondering how to do it myself. I have a 1 story home.

Just take a hose and push it down the gutter then let the water run full blast it will take out the debris.
Do you have a plumbers snake? If not, get up on a ladder and feed your garden hose as far down as you can. See if you can knock whatever is in their loose. Turn on your hose full blast and hopefully it will dislodge whatever is in there. Be prepared to get soaked if it backs up and splashes out the top instead of the bottom. See if these help.
