Your pan is warped, either from shock - taking a hot pan and plunging into cold water, or from setting a hot pan on a cold surface. Possibly cheaply manufactured. What brand and type is it? I suggest saving for a quality pan. Keep your eyes open at Goodwill and thrift shops, every once in a blue moon you can score Le Creuset, Staub or other higher end, top quality pots and pans for pennies on the dollar.
I agree with Naomie. We were able to put nice, good quality pots, pans, mixing bowls, etc in our camping trailer just buy checking out goodwill. Of course, I would check all your favorite thrift stores too. ;-)
Had that problem with a frying pan. Turn the pan over upside down on a hard surface. Take a hammer and gently tap it from the center out in a circle. Every so often lay it on the stove top to check if it lays flat.
