Add lights and mirrors with light colors. De clutter.
I was thinking the same thing as Kathy. Paint a light color. Use plenty of light and a nice mirror. Light colored shower curtain. You can add a pop of color with brightly colored towels.
-Paint all the painted surfaces - baseboards, window trim, and walls the same light colour. Paint the ceiling white.
-No small throw mats on the floor.
Switch out the solid door for one with frosted privacy glass. It will not only make the room seem larger and airier, it will seem brighter due to light coming through the door, while at the same time having full privacy.
