How to eliminate white film on glassware?

Wine and drinking glasses come out of dishwasher clean but with a white film. We are on a well water system but have a water softening system. Film will not wipe or scrub off. Do I need to discard all my glassware???????

Try rinsing them by hand in CLR or Lime Away, then rinse with clear water. If that doesn't clear them up then they are etched from the dishwasher. Unfortunately I don't believe there's a way to repair them.
Soak them overnight in vinegar and water. Line the sink with a dish towel and place glasses in sink. Fill with the hottest tap water you can get, add one or two cups of white vinegar. Let soak a couple hours or overnight. Wash and dry by hand and see what happens.
Do you use a rinse aid?
I find some of the tablets don't clean well and always leave a white scum. I have changed tablets and now use fairy platinum and regually clean the filter. This has improved the look of my glasses.
