If you can't find a decent cover, you could throw a couple of blankets over it to "get by" and tuck them in. Maybe sheets or some material you like. I used a sheet and safety pins on my window seat. I also used a piece of material and some upholstery tacks (linked) to recover a foot stool. I gathered the corners with a rubber band and tucked them under. Congratulations on getting into a home.

Check out sure-fit slipcovers. They will have just this style sofa and you will like the look of it once you put it on. Though getting to the pullout bed may be tricky after putting the slipcover on. So if that is out of the question there are ways to paint a couch using fabric paint. I have not done it yet so I don't have my own tutorial for you but you could search how to paint a couch right in Hometalk for a tutorial. As for the seams that need to be sewn it sounded like you might know how to do that. If it gets hard with a regular needle and thread, you can always go to Joanne Fabrics and buy a curved sewing needle that will make the job soooo much easier. Good luck!

New stuffing would help , of course . Several ways to upgrade the look . And while new slipcovers might not SEEM the cheapest option many are in sale right now through Overstock , Amazon and for best pricing Groupon , did you know you can also paint upholstery? I’d very carefully look up the how to videos , I’m not sure about paint durability however , some have used chalk paint but really.... save a bit... buy an affordable slipcover OR

This really needs a lot of work. Do you have a Habitat for Humanity ReStor near you? I’ve seen very nice couches in great shape there. Otherwise, I think your best bet is a slipcover.

You might consider using a king-size printed sheet, bedspread or quilt. Walmart has great quilts at good prices. You can get corkscrew-looking pins in the fabric department or fabric store and just fold and pin until it looks neat. If you access the bed frequently, just use the covering as a throw. I suggest printed material since it will cover up stains and dirt better than solid-color material. And, best of all, these materials are all washable!

While everyone focuses on dressing up a turd, I say: Look daily on Craigslist free section and get a new couch for free. Then, post this one on Craigslist for free.

If the couch has zippers, use quilt batting and wrap around the bottom cushions. Use Poly-fill for the back cushions. Put the poly-fill in through the back side only. Keep stuffing and stuffing and stuffing. Make sure it is over stuffed right down to the zipper. For the corners, use a ruler to get the stuffing in place. In the end, the back cushions will look too puffy and over stuffed but will settle down after a few weeks
