How to replace a toilet?
I have a leaky toilet that has ruined the tile flooring around it. I need to replace the toilet and the flooring (not the wooden underfloor, that is fine). What should be done first - the flooring or the toilet?

I would replace the flooring first, or you will have to take out the toilet to put flooring underneath it. It can be a hassle to try to go around the toilet with any flooring, much less get behind it to lay the flooring.
that you so much - that makes sense.
I don't think you need to replace the toilet. if it leaked from underneath all you need is to replace the wax ring. Is the flooring ceramic tile of vinyl tile.? How was it ruined? Most of the time it can be cleaned up and/or reglued. A photo would help! Flooring needs to be done first after the toilet is removed.

Where is the leak coming from, under the toilet or from the tank? If it's coming from under the toilet then you need to replace the wax seal which is under the toilet. If it's coming from the tank it probably just needs a new seal in the tank. Either way you should take out the toilet, replace the flooring and re install the toilet with a new wax seal.
If you don't know what you are doing. Call in a Plumber. The fist thing to do would be to turn off the water supply and empty the cistern.
