try plain white vinegar and oxiclean. = try it in a hidden area first to see if it might change the color orf your carpet. This has removed old stains that reappear when I steam clean my carpeting.
Vinegar is the best for removing doors. Also tends to keep animals from using the same spot again. But just for an FYI, when you use a puppy pad for a pet, they cannot tell the difference between the pad and a throw rug or a carpet. If they miss the pad it’s not their fault.

You can use a enzyme cleaner to clean up any pet stains and odors. Natures Miracle is one brand.
