How can the smell of cat urine be removed from a carpet?

    To totally remove it would be to take up your carpet and pad. The urine is also in pad. The cat will keep going back to it no matter what you do. But in mean time, pet stores sell products like "urine out" , nature's miracle. Hope it works.

    How about calling Stanley Steemer? I had them come in and they did three rooms for $100. Ask if they have something they use!

    I use plain old rubbing alcohol. Pour it to saturate, the pad will swell. When alcohol evaporates it will return to normal. When a cat sprays I use a spray bottle of alcohol, spray it & forget it. Odor gone!

    Get Nature's Miracle. It works with enzymes and doesn't try to clean out the urine. Cut away the smelly piece of pad and replace it. Re the cat, take it to the vet; It may have a urinary infection. Older cats soil outside their litter box due to dementia.

    My my cat peed in my car on the back seat. It was awful. I used Nature’s Miracle and it took the smell out completely. Completely!!!
