How do I improve the growing of basil in the house?

It does great outside during the growing season (in Connecticut), but it does poorly (slowly shrivels and eventually dies) in the house over the winter. I have been keeping it in a window for sun but that is obviously not a good place. Would much appreciate any suggestions! Thanks!

You need the make or buy a "grow light." Basil needs lots of sun. Any home improvement center or hardware store will have what you need.
