Biswajit, India has numerous climates and elevations! I would suggest, if possible, that you check out the native trees and find one that does well in shade.

Ficus is a go-to indoor tree, but there are also several types of palm and podacarpus that do not require much light. The same works for bonsai. Hardwoods and conifers do not like the indoors as they need changes of season to stay healthy. But many bonsai are not trees - like azalea, juniper and privet. You can train these shrubs (and almost any low light shrub) to bonsai shapes and they should do well indoors with bright, indirect light and plenty of moisture.

Probably not too many without light. Go to your local nursery to get more information for your area. Most any plant can be a bonsai, it's how it's cut and cultivated. Works best with miniature plants.
