How do I make a glass tile lampshade?

I would like replace my white lampshades. Has anyone made a lampshade out of glass tile sheets? Is it too heavy? Does enough light shine through? Thank you!

The glass tile would be VERY heavy, but if your lamp is sturdy and the harp is heavy-duty enough to hold the weight it should be beautiful. If you can remove the fabric from your current lampshade and use the metal frame to attach to your tile sheet that will be your best bet for light showing through it.
The mesh that holds on the glass tile is made to be glued down to a substrait like plywood, concrete board etc. The tile would just sag if attached to shade frame and tile will fall off the mesh. Really not practical.
The glass tile sheets are sheeted with mesh and adhesive. They won’t let out much light. So in the unlikely event that your current shade frame can hold this weight, it’s not going to be a Tiffany shade.
If you want to take up stained glass making, I can tell you how Tiffany -style lampshades are made.
I would buy the plastic film that’s made to look like a stained glass panel for a window or a French door. It could be spray glued with a commercial spray glue to the old shades and might do better on the insides, if they are plastic lined.
