It's hard to believe that July is almost over; but I know when the fireflies appear at dusk it is the first sign that summer is marching on. With our rather short growing season, Zone 6, I savour every minute in my garden.

Thank goodness I had the foresight to plant an abundance of ground cover like ajuga, pachysandra and ivy when the garden was begun. It keeps maintenance at a low level, and offers a veritable sea of green most seasons beyond summer. Enjoy your summer!
