Need to pick a paint color for kitchen walls

by Debbie
I am trying to decide what color to paint my kitchen/dining room walls. We recently renovated and the cupboards are now white with black granite countertops, back splash is sand stone with black/brown tiles for a 2" trim around bottom, floors are wood. Table and furniture in dining room is light oak.

With everything being neutral (black, white, brown), you have endless color choices. There are several ways to decide on a color. Use your favorite color, incorporate a color from a nearby room, or use artwork, fabric or a rug as your color inspiration.

I would use a light color beige, earthy or something close to the sandstone so that you can accent with any other colors frequently that you like (red, blue, yellow, etc.) much easier.

Hi Debbie! Could you upload a photo of your kitchen/dining room? That will make it easier for other hometalkers and myself to give you better answers and ideas! You can add photos by clicking the upper right drop arrow and select "edit" (see screenshot). Hope this helps! :)

Debbie, Those colors are exactly like my kitchen, I painted my walls a beige and put accessories in colors. Knobs are green with leaves design, a large picture on one wall with a barn and red apples in baskets. I also have bright green accessories on bar with green plant, a tall lamp w/ green shade, mirror with green trim, & small pictures around it. I have a large red apple on ref front that you can stick notes in.

I'd go with Shari on this and look for a pop of color, since everything else is neutral.

Depending on your other home décor, a pop of muted yellow or sage green would be nice.
