Get matching siding and weave it into old.

Could they add a faux window? Maybe the one they took out could be added from the outside? It

would fill the hole and look less odd.

Since the siding is no longer made, check with the closest Habitat for Humanity Re-Store. Lots of building materials are donated. You may have to go back a number of times to get something close.

If you know what kind of siding it is, advertise in the wanted ads for some.

Put the window back in. Cover the in side with sheet rock/wall board. On the outside it will look as if there is a window - because there is....

I would match the siding as best as you can (have a siding expert out to help you find the closest match) then get a painter out to match the color of the existing siding. That’s probably the best thing you can without getting a whole new house of siding or putting in another window.

I would put in a mirror, covered with clear peel-n-stick vinyl to make it shatter proof. It will reflect the surroundings, and look as if it is a window with a darkened interior.

I would paint the plywood white, tack white lace to the wood so it looks like curtains but the window back.

  • This is how remodeling projects start to go off the rails. Why wasn't this researched first? What does the contractor recommend? Start googling to see who might have some back stock. Check with habit re stores. Paint it a sky blue and turn it into a faux window. Get a house painter out there and try to blend it in with a paint job to trick the eye to think it is siding.
